Tom was born in Yonkers and has lived in the Crestwood section of Yonkers for over fifty-five years. He has three adult children and resides in Crestwood today with his wife, Erin. Tom’s children all graduated from the Annunciation Elementary School and his wife Erin has been a teacher at the Bronxville Elementary School for twenty years.

Tom was one of the founding members of the Annunciation Mens Club and served as its president for two terms. He also coached a number of Annunciation School and Hillcrest Lakers Community Club sports teams.

Tom attended the Annunciation Elementary School and Archbishop Stepinac High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and his Masters degree in Special Education from Lehman College. Tom managed Bronxville’s popular Tumble Down Dicks Restaurant (now known as “La Casa”) for several years in the early 80’s. He also worked for IBM before taking a position as a special education teacher in the New York City Department of Education.

During his twenty-nine year tenure at the DOE, Tom held the positions of Special Education Teacher, Worksite Supervisor, Job Developer, Programmer, and Business Manager. Tom devoted the bulk of his career to working with developmentally disabled high school students in the Bronx. He also personally coded the IEP Pro! Special Education data system, which was used across all grade levels in all five boroughs of New York City.

Tom retired from the Department of Education in 2018. He is excited to be a member of “Team Stoltz” at Compass, the number #1 team in the Bronxville area and one of the top ten teams in Westchester.  He looks forward to meeting new people and is committed to being a dedicated advocate for his clients.
